Cracked Walnut Lit-Reading Festival
It’s going on now! My friend and fellow writer Satish Jayaraj has put together a literary extravaganza! The Cracked Walnut Lit-Reading Festival is a month-long ode to the love affair between writers and coffee shops. How we rejoice in the scream of the milk steamer! How we linger over our giant lattes, typing furiously on our laptops and scratching in our notebooks. We heart you, coffee shops, and for the next four weeks we are invading you en masse to read back some of those scribblings.
Where are the readings? Everywhere! Check out the complete festival locations and line-ups. I’ll be at the Black Dog Cafe and Wine Bar this Sunday night at 6:00pm, reading a brand new piece called, “Why Fiction Writers Suck at Life.” Interested? Come on out, have a drink, and listen to some great music and readings. I can’t think of a better way to start the week.
