The Lake Season by Hannah McKinnon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A lovely summer read. The beautifully-drawn lakeside farm provides the backdrop for two adult daughters who come home to navigate very different milestones in their lives: one wedding and one divorce. I loved the female characters in this book, but sometimes found the men to be lacking in depth, which, I have to say, is a refreshing twist to the female stereotypes I find in a lot of men’s fiction. (Yes, men’s fiction is a genre.) If you enjoy family dramas and second chances, pick up The Lake Season this summer.
